Services for Runners

Aerobic Profile Test - $175

Determines the lactate thresholds, aerobic capacity and efficiency for endurance runners. Includes a body composition analysis to determine the lean body mass of the subject. Interpretation of the test results for the athlete and his/her coach include heart rate training zones and pace ranges to be used in training for their goal event.

Recommended for 10K - Marathon runners, multisport athletes and as a baseline test for all distance runners to evaluate proper training zones.

Max VO2 Test - $150

Determines the aerobic capacity and anaerobic threshold for runners. Includes a body composition analysis to determine the lean body mass of the subject. Interpretation of the results for the athlete and his/her coach include recommended heart rate training zones for optimal power from fat usage and carbohydrate metabolism.

Recommended for various runners interested in identifying their maximal aerobic capacity and anaerobic thresholds to optimize their training.

Lactate Threshold Test - $125 - $150 with gas exchange

Determines the effort required to run at important sub-maximal speeds related to your goal event by measuring heart rate and the concentration of lactate in the blood. This test can be conducted with the measurement of gas exchange for an additional fee. When gas exchange is used estimation of running efficiency can be included in the results. Interpretation of the results for the athlete and his/her coach include recommended heart rate training zones and pace ranges to be used in training for their goal event.

Recommended for endurance runners from 10K – Marathon and Multisport athletes.

Heart Rate Monitor Set Up Test - $65

Estimates the anaerobic threshold through a running test at various running speeds and observation of the heart rate dynamics.

Recommended for all runners relying on a heart rate monitor for their training.

Critical Power/Speed Test - $150

Combines two maximal steady state tests to establish the aerobic power profile. Estimation of the velocity at VO2 max and lactate threshold. Interpretation of results includes recommended heart rate training zones and pace ranges.

Recommended for competitive runners interested in an estimation of velocity at threshold and maximum intensities.

Resting Metabolic Rate - $50

Determines the rate and type of calories (fat v. carbohydrate) burned at rest.

Recommended for all athletes interested in optimizing their performance by assessing their energetic needs.

Biomechanical Running Assessment - $125

A hands on comprehensive assessment of your flexibility, strength, joint function, recruitment patterns and running form. This information is used to give specific information on a runner’s particular imbalances and deficits that may be adversely affecting their performance or predisposing them to injury. Recommendations are given following the assessment to address imbalances and inequities found. See a more comprehensive description of the Biomechanical Running Assessment.
